Nature's Best Photography
Adding to the many awards it has already won, Peter Lik’s classic photograph “Ghost” has won the Art in Nature category of the 2010 Windland Smith Rice International Awards for Nature’s Best Photography.
As a result, it will be displayed in an exhibition of nature photography at the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C.
This dual achievement places Peter in very elite company. There were only 18 category winners selected for the 2010 Windland Smith Rice International Awards which drew over 20,000 image entries from photographers in 56 countries.
The awards are named for accomplished nature photographer and conservation advocate Windland Smith Rice who passed away in 2005.
The Nature’s Best Photography Awards program has now reached its 14th year celebrating the talents of photographers at all levels of experience from around the globe.
National Museum of Natural History
In partnership with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, the winners of each awards category, and a selection of highly honored images from the Windland Smith Rice International Awards, are displayed to millions of visitors in a popular annual exhibition.
