Peter Lik Helps Make-A-Wish in Hawaii

Updated 04/10/2024
2015 continues to provide so many incredible opportunities for the philanthropic artist to help out worthwhile charities around the world.

Most recently, on Saturday May 9th, Peter was honored to auction off his image, Pacific Nights, during an island event that raised thousands in support of children awaiting their special wishes. Not too far from his longest running U.S. gallery, LIK WAIKIKI, the 4th annual Wish! By the Sea gala in Oahu took in more proceeds than ever before.

This year’s event, hosted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation at Disney’s local resort, The Aulani, entertained over 650 guests and raised a whopping $500,000 – more than the gala has received in years past. LIK WAIKIKI Gallery Directors Kerry Bohanon and Steven Maier were on hand to present Peter’s image and show support for the worthy cause: “It was incredibly touching to be able to sit amongst the Make-A-Wish families,” said Bohanon. “We were able to hear the stories and see what an impact Make-A-Wish has made in their lives. It really goes to show the importance of this charity not only for the children but for their entire families.”

For four years in a row, Peter has graciously donated a Limited Edition image to this joyous bash in the South Pacific. The artist’s 2015 offering, Pacific Nights – appropriately capturing a glowing sunset off Maui – was one of an impressive 300 items up for grabs during the event’s silent auction. “Being able to assist an amazing organization like Make-A-Wish means so much to me,” Peter commented. “Knowing that the proceeds go to such a beautiful cause is a great feeling. I’m glad we could help out.”

Great job, Pete and LIK WAIKIKI!
